49ers Deals $6.75 million cornerback image of the starting lineup

Although the San Francisco 49ers are still in shock following a close loss in the Super Bowl, the team is already getting set to bounce back the following year. According to the 49ers’ official website, the team is now making small roster changes, and they have begun by cutting defensive back Isaiah Oliver.

Oliver, who was chosen in the second round of the 2018 NFL draft, played his whole career for the Atlanta Falcons until joining the 49ers in the previous season. The 27-year-old played in 17 games during the 2023–24 season, recording 67 tackles (19 solo, 48 assisted), two passes defended, and one interception.

But Isaiah Oliver didn’t play a single down in the postseason. Still, he played in 35 special teams snaps. Before being cut by the 49ers, the cornerback had just completed the first year of a two-year $6,750,000 contract.

Regarding the 49ers, the current offseason presents a favorable image of the starting lineup. There are currently no high-priority players among San Francisco’s free agents, thus the team will have another chance at winning next season with essentially the same major names.
