The Toronto Maple Leafs management and coaching staff are contemplating taking the captaincy from John Tavares and giving to to Auston Matthews.
Tavares is in the final year of his current contract and most likely won’t get re-signed unless he’ll take a lot less then the $11 million he’s currently making.
Matthews just signed a 4-year $53 million dollar deal back in August being the highest paid player in Toronto this is Matthews’ team now if it wasn’t already.
