At the Nuggets’ end-of-season press conference, Malone told reporters that he had no plans to watch the conference finals live.Speaking to Jim Rome, Malone reiterated his statement that he will also not watch the NBA Finals between the Dallas Mavericks and the Boston Celtics.

When talking to Jim Rome, Malone echoed his statement and isn’t planning on watching the NBA Finals matchup between the Dallas Mavericks and Boston Celtics either.
“I’ll definitely watch the games at some point,” Malone told Romo. “You can always learn. I’ve learned from my dad over the years that he’s been a huge influence on me because you’re always looking and you’re always learning. And when you stop learning, you don’t get better. Right now it’s hard for me to sit there and to watch it because I want to be there. I want to lead the Nuggets to the NBA Finals like we did last year when we won our first championship in Nuggets history.
[It’s] something we hope to repeat in the near future. But it’s a little too raw for me to sit and watch these games right now.Despite the low attendance for the playoff games, Malone still praised both the Mavericks and the Celtics for their efforts.”I give a lot of credit to Jason Kidd and Dallas. Luka [Doncic], Kyrie [Irving], all their moves. I give a lot of credit to Joe Mazzula and Brad Stephens in Boston. Those two teams deserve to be there.”
