The Pittsburgh Steelers appear to have contacted the majority of NFL teams to inquire about the availability of their best wide receiver for a trade. The controversy surrounding the two wide receivers from the San Francisco 49ers who were rumoured to be joining the Steelers but didn’t end up happening centred on the fans.
However, if we stick with the NFC West, there’s another player that might be worth the wait. NFL reporter Benjamin Allbright reports that the Steelers had asked the Seattle Seahawks’ DK Metcalf, a wide receiver, about his availability. Due to contract disputes, Allbright stated that any deal involving the Steelers and Seahawks would need to occur after June 1. There are two years remaining on Metcalf’s current deal.
Since the Seahawks chose Metcalf two picks ahead of the Steelers in the 2019 NFL Draft, the player and the team will always be connected. This goes all the way back to Dionate Johnson. It would be amusing if Metcalf ended up taking Johnson’s place after he was dealt to the Carolina Panthers.
