Many collegiate teams are starting to get a head start on the 2026 recruiting class, including the Tennessee Volunteers. Defensive lineman Tyson Bacon of Hoover High School, who has visited Tennessee on several occasions, is among the more recent names on the Tennessee offer list.

Bacon spoke with Volunteer Country again to summarize his offer. According to Bacon, “It meant a lot,” to Volunteer Country. It demonstrated to me the benefits of hard work in life. Based on the visit this past Saturday, it went beyond shoulder pads and helmets. It was a wonderful experience all around, and the smiles and hugs made it feel comfortable.”

He had conversations with every defensive coordinator at Tennessee. “I had a terrific conversation with the head coach and the entire defense staff! We discussed several topics other than football. primarily on life and all of its facets. We discussed our many interests and hobbies as well as life in general.”

He noted that throughout his evaluations of spring practice, a number of athletes caught his eye. “Emmanuel Okoye, the defensive lineman, is going to be much anticipated because football is a relatively new sport for him. Furthermore, [Elijah Simmons] is playing defense; it seems absurd for someone that size to be that aggressive and fluid.”

Athletes have begun traveling to Tennessee in large numbers, and this number will only rise in the coming days as the Volunteers prepare for their yearly spring Orange & White competition. Numerous factors will make the game stand out, one of which being the attention given to redshirt freshman Nico Iamaleava. Attendance from a large number of recruits is anticipated.
