A valuable special teams player and seasoned defensive player have been retained by the Broncos.
Inside linebacker Justin Strnad was re-signed by Denver on Thursday, the organization announced, for a one-year contract.
Strnad, who the Broncos selected in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, has started five games and had 50 appearances in his career. He has not missed a game in the previous two seasons, mostly contributing to the Broncos’ special teams unit.
In 2022 and 2023, the Wake Forest product was involved in 84% and 86% of Denver’s special teams snaps, respectively.
According to Pro Football Reference, Strnad led the Broncos in special teams snaps in both 2022 and 2023.
The 235-pound, 6-foot-3 player has 46 career tackles, 31 of which have come alone, along with a quarterback hit.
