Mike Tomlin, the coach of the Steelers Doing well

Mike Tomlin, the coach of the Steelers, was awarded the National Coalition of Minority Football Coaches’ (NCMFC) 2024 Professional Coach of the Year.

The goal of the award is to recognize a minority coach who has led by example on the field or who has made the most of his position to promote diversity in the professional ranks. The recipient must exhibit excellence, moral rectitude, and integrity both on and off the field.

Coach Michael Locksley of the University of Maryland established the NCMFC in 2020 with the goal of advancing equity.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by the coalition,” stated Tomlin. “It is an honor to work with Coach Locksley and others to improve things for future generations, and I truly value their mission.

“I look forward to continuing to put my hand in the pile and to do work as we move forward.”

The goal of the 2020-founded NCMFC is to develop, support, and produce minority football administrators and coaches at all football levels.
