Its yet another awesome day for Wolves Hampton’s mildfield Magician Pedro Neto as he turns 24 today being Saturdays 9th 2024.
A Blast from the Past
In honor of his 22nd birthday, Pedro Neto signed a long-term contract extension with Wolves.
After spending a considerable amount of time on the sidelines due to injury, the Portuguese winger got his first start of the season in the season’s loss to Crystal Palace last weekend. He has committed to the team until 2027.
‘It’s excellent news for the football club and Pedro,’ Wolves technical director Scott Sellars said on the team’s website. It’s a well-earned prize for him because he worked so hard to recover from his injuries, which benefits everyone.
It makes sense for the team to hold onto its talent, and ideally it made sense for Pedro to extend his stay and put in a lot of effort in a setting where he feels at ease and content. Pedro is deserving of it, and we are overjoyed.
After leaving Portuguese team Braga to join Wolves in August 2019, Neto has scored ten goals in 83 games across all competitions for the Midlands team.
Despite having a shattered kneecap in April of last year, which caused him to miss many months of action, he was selected Wolves’ player of the season for 2020–21 and is currently back in the starting lineup.
Sellars went on: “It was challenging for him; he encountered a setback along the road, but Pedro, as usual, put his head down and worked diligently while grinning.”
“He’s determined to reach his full potential, as evidenced by the speed at which he’s returned to his game, but we believe there’s much more in store.”
He’s been out for a while, but we have no doubts that he’ll return to the Pedro we know; there’s no rush; it might be at the conclusion of the current season or the beginning of the next. All we want to know is that he is growing and has minutes.
