Emery Set to Strike a new deal

The news that Thomas Tuchel will be departing Bayern Munich at the end of the season may have raised concerns among Aston Villa. Another elite European team, Barcelona and Liverpool, was also joining the manager market, and Unai Emery was undoubtedly going to be in high demand.

The player who appears to be destined to dethrone them this season, Xabi Alonso of Bayer Leverkusen, is someone the defending Bundesliga champions would love to have on their team, but Liverpool has already entered into “advanced discussions” in preparation of Jurgen Klopp’s departure. Emery, Sebastian Hoeness of Stuttgart, and former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane are possible backups. Hansi Flick’s comeback might also be imminent.

Emery is still currently dedicated to Villa.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano discussed the rumors that link Emery to Bayern in his daily report for Caught Offside. The good news for Villa is that the Spaniard isn’t currently in talks for any other roles and is still “100% focused” on the team.

“To be honest, I don’t know anything about this right now. Barça and Bayern will be connected to a lot of managers. I’ve already seen a lot of names floating around, but nothing has been decided. Although Unai Emery is an excellent manager who has, in my opinion, progressed greatly in recent years, he is currently solely focused on the Aston Villa project and is not currently in contact with any other teams.

For Villa, losing Emery is unimaginable.
Because Emery is, quite simply, the best thing to happen to Villa in years, it is imperative that the club hang onto him. After making it to the Europa Conference League round of 16, where they will take on Ajax, they have an opportunity to win their first major trophy since 1996. They may also make it into the Champions League for the first time since 1983.
