SKY REPORT: Luton Town at Anfield not to be Televised due to…

On Wednesday night, Liverpool will host Luton Town at Anfield in an attempt to extend their Premier League championship campaign.

Because Liverpool is playing in the Carabao Cup final this weekend, the match has been moved up three days. However, because of Premier League blackout regulations, the Hatters’ trip to Merseyside cannot be televised. The encounter was not originally scheduled to air on TNT Sports or Sky Sports, which would have placed it in a time slot to air on Saturday at 3 p.m. That would put the game during the national football blackout on television.

It was shifted to make room for Liverpool’s spot in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley, but as of right now, neither network may choose whether to air it. This is a result of each party’s restricted allocation under the terms of their Premier League contract.

On Wednesday night, though, football will be broadcast on TNT and Sky Sports. This season’s Champions League football will be broadcast on TNT, along with Arsenal’s trip to Porto and Napoli vs Barcelona. The EFL Trophy semifinal match between Bradford City and Wycombe Wanderers will air on Sky Sports in the interim.

For Brentford and Manchester City on Tuesday night, a similar thing occurred. The teams were originally scheduled to play on December 23rd, but Pep Guardiola’s team’s commitments to the Club World Cup made sure that date was overlooked when the broadcasters were choosing which games to air during the holiday season.

Liverpool hopes to build on their 4-1 victory against Brentford over the weekend as they go into Wednesday’s match. In the match against West London, Mohamed Salah returned with a goal and an assist.
