Shearer said that Forest should have been awarded a penalty when Taiwo Awoniyi fell down under Martin Dubravka’s contract, even though it was evident that he was delighted with Newcastle’s win. Shearer continued, “I think Newcastle got lucky there.” “I would be yelling for a penalty if the situation were reversed. I can see why Nottingham Forest supporters feel defrauded.”
Nuno Espirito Santo, the manager of the Reds, was not thrilled with the outcome, as a VAR upheld referee Anthony Taylor’s on-field call after a review.
