Carlos Alcaraz, a Southampton loanee, talked about realising his ambition after joining Serie A superpower Juventus on a temporary basis. A dream come true, the 21-year-old said in his first news conference as a new Bianconeri midfielder, was joining Massimiliano Allegri’s team.

It’s a dream come true; it was amazing. I’m aware that in order to succeed—both with Juventus and personally—I’ll need to put in a lot of effort. According to the club’s X account, Alcaraz stated, “It was crazy because I was playing with Juventus on the PlayStation and now, I’m here.”
As time ran out, Juventus looked to Alcaraz to fix their midfield issues in the wake of long-term suspensions for Paul Pogba and Nicolo Fagioli. To bridge the gap and improve Juventus’ chances in a closely contested Scudetto fight against Inter, Allegri needs a fresh midfield player.
Juventus agreed to loan the Championship team €3.7 million for a six-month period, with a further €1.9 million. At the end of the season, the Italian powerhouses will have the option to make the Argentine’s temporary swap permanent for around €49 million, if all goes as planned.
It might not take long for Alcaraz to make his Serie A debut. On Sunday, Juventus travels to Giuseppe Meazza in an intimidating-looking six-point match against Inter. Though he’s more likely to start on the bench, it could be an opportunity for the highly-rated midfielder to show off to the Italian supporters.
