The crucial midfield player for the Sky Blues will be absent for the match at Carrow Road against the hosts, who have only triumphed in two of their previous six Championship contests.
Sheaf appeared hurt in the first ten minutes of Tuesday’s match against Bristol City; a ruptured hamstring was the original prognosis. But the degree of the tear is yet unknown, and its severity will provide a better idea of how long the 25-year-old is probably going to be gone.
“Today, Ben will have a scan, so we will have more information later,” Robins said. He will be on the machine later today, and we will find out this evening. Regretfully, we had to wait a few days to get him on the scanner.
The good news is that Victor Torp, who signed in January, has performed admirably in his first two games and appears able to compete at the Championship level. However, he still has to gain a little match fitness after returning from a six-week vacation for the Norwegian winter break.
