Pundit praises Arsenal man who was instrumental in 2-0 win over Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton side

Declan Rice put in another superb performance for Arsenal yesterday against Brighton (2-0), for which he deserves plaudits.

Since Arsenal bought him in the summer, the central midfielder has been a great reinforcement.

Mikel Arteta had been campaigning for him for a year and had to fight off competition from Manchester City to sign the England international.

The Canaries broke their transfer record for the transfer, but Rice’s play made the transfer look like a steal.

The former West Ham player has hardly made a mistake since joining the club and was instrumental in the win against Brighton.

A delighted Clinton Morrison told the BBC after the game:

“Rice was outstanding. He’s had a huge impact on this team.

“He covers ground, drives forward and intercepts. He does all that. I think he’s magnificent.”

Rice was such a good signing and justified why he should have been our record signing for a long time.

However, this is only the start of the season and his level of play should not drop until the end of the campaign.
