    Career Achievements:Clemens boasts an impressive resume, including seven Cy Young Awards—more than any other pitcher—along with 354 wins, a 3.12 ERA, and 4,672 strikeouts over 3,060 innings. He also played a key role in leading the Houston Astros to their first World Series appearance in 2005.

    Controversies:Despite never testing positive for PEDs, Clemens has been linked to their use, which has led to significant debate about his integrity and place in baseball history. These allegations have heavily influenced public and professional opinion regarding his Hall of Fame candidacy.

    Hall of Fame Debate:

    Although Clemens was eligible and appeared on the Baseball Writers’ Association of America (BBWAA) ballot several times, he was never able to secure the necessary 75% vote for induction. Supporters highlight his exceptional statistics and accolades, while detractors point to the PED allegations as disqualifying.

    Current Status:As of the January 2025 Hall of Fame vote, Clemens did not receive enough support and has since been removed from the BBWAA ballot.
