Following his ferocious tirade against the refereeing during the Toronto Raptors’ game against the Los Angeles Lakers, head coach Darko Rajakovic garnered national attention. Many fans backed the coach, but one former player chose a different path.
The Lakers made 23 free throws in the fourth quarter compared to the Raptors’ two, and Rajakovic was furious with the refereeing crew for the game. Rajakovic declared that he had not received an explanation from the officials and that this was not the first time such a circumstance had occurred, calling it BS.After the Serbian expert’s remarks, former NBA player Evan Turner disapproved of the coach.
With his remarks about Toronto Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic, a Serbian, Evan Turner infuriated supporters. After a loss to the Lakers, Rajakovic went on one of his most furious tirades of the season. Turner made fun of Darko’s accent. Turner has already had to retract that statement, of course.
“Once more, dude, I sincerely apologize if my remarks on coach Darko offended you and you’re from Canada. Not a humorous thing. Love to all.”
In response to Darko’s outburst, Turner ridiculed his accent in an Instagram post, saying he ought to have sent an assistant coach from the United States to make the same remarks.
“You gotta let your assistant coaches do the rant when ‘you have accent.'”This has to be among the most insensitive remarks made by a prominent NBA player in the media.
Turner had no business making a criticism on Darko’s accent because he isn’t a master orator. Dennis Schroder called Turner out in response to Turner’s remark, demonstrating how obviously xenophobic it is and how it would naturally enrage Darko and those around him.
