Isaac Bonga, the German basketball player of Congolese descent, has recently signed with KK Partizan, marking a significant move in his professional career. Born on November 8, 1999, in Neuwied, Germany, Bonga stands at 2.03 meters (6 feet 8 inches) and plays as a forward. His journey through various basketball leagues has showcased his versatility and growth as a player.

Bonga began his professional career with Skyliners Frankfurt in 2016, where he made his Bundesliga debut at the age of 16. His potential was quickly recognized, leading to his selection by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2018 NBA Draft. However, he was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, where he spent the 2018–2019 season. During his tenure with the Lakers, Bonga appeared in 22 NBA games, averaging 0.9 points and 1.1 rebounds per game. He also played for the South Bay Lakers in the NBA G League, showcasing his skills and development.

In July 2019, Bonga was traded to the Washington Wizards, where he played for two seasons, averaging 5 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game in his first year. In August 2021, he signed with the Toronto Raptors, participating in 15 regular-season games and one playoff appearance. Seeking new challenges, Bonga returned to Germany in August 2022, signing a two-year deal with Bayern Munich. During his time with Bayern, he achieved significant success, winning the 2024 German championship and the 2023 and 2024 German Cup championships.

After departing from Bayern Munich in July 2024, Bonga signed with KK Partizan on August 20, 2024. Partizan competes in the ABA League, the Basketball League of Serbia (KLS), and the EuroLeague, offering Bonga a platform to further showcase his talents on a prominent stage. Reflecting on his decision to join Partizan, Bonga stated, “It wasn’t an easy decision,” indicating the significance of this move in his career.
