Mike Hall Jr. of the Browns Enters a Plea for Disorderly Conduct Charge

Cleveland Browns rookie defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. appeared in court on Thursday to enter a plea to a disorderly conduct charge. He entered a plea of no contest at the Avon Lake Municipal Court. Per Fox 8 News, Hall told the judge he’s learned from the experience and said he will seek counseling.

The court appearance comes after an August incident where Hall was charged with domestic violence from his then-fiancé, who later recanted part of her story. In the police report that was filed on Aug. 12, the accuser described an incident where Hall Jr. held a gun to her head and said, “I will (expletive) end it all. I don’t care.” And that’s the part that she has now amended. The fiancé has now told police she was mistaken when she reported that part of the incident.

According to the police reports, the Lorain County 911 dispatch contacted the Avon Police at about 10:01 p.m. on Monday to request police assistance at a residence – and then the call was “cut off.”

The home in question is that of the mother of Hall’s child, and when police called back, they said they spoke with a woman who said Hall “had pushed her daughter (name redacted) and struck her with a baby bottle.”

Hall is a second-round draft pick out of Ohio State and is expected to contribute this season as a rotational player on the defensive line. Hall is on the Commissioner’s Exempt List and remains on paid leave from the team. Depending on how the case is decided, the league could decide further disciplinary action is needed per the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy.
