Emma Raducanu has been dealt a particularly challenging draw at the upcoming US Open as she aims to secure her first victory in New York since her stunning triumph in 2021.

The 21-year-old British tennis star made headlines around the world three years ago when she captured the title at Flushing Meadows in a remarkable display of skill and composure.
However, her subsequent appearances have not mirrored that success. In 2022, she was eliminated in the first round, and last year, an injury kept her out of the tournament entirely.

This year, the draw has presented Raducanu with a formidable opponent right from the start. She will face Sofia Kenin, a former Australian Open champion who is currently ranked 55th in the world. Kenin, known for her competitive spirit and powerful play, poses a significant challenge for Raducanu, making this first-round matchup particularly daunting.

This tough draw underscores the uphill battle Raducanu faces as she seeks to rediscover her form and make a deep run at the US Open, aiming to replicate the success that once made her a global sensation.
If she wins that then American sixth seed Jessica Pegula is likely to be waiting in the second round before a possible all-British third round tie against Katie Boulter.Raducanu could then need to beat 11th seed Danielle Collins just to get a crack at world number one Iga Swiatek in the quarter-final.
Boulter, seeded 31st, has a more favourable route to a possible third-round meeting with Raducanu as she faces a qualifier in the first round and then will meet the winner of Jessica Bouzas Maneiro or Petra Martic in the second round.Harriet Dart meets wild card Chloe Paquet, with a possible second-round tie against 13th seed Emma Navarro.Jack Draper will hope to shake off the controversy that surrounds him with a first-round win over Zhizhen Zhang
