Los Angeles Lakers Player agrees deal to Be First In Franchise History To Wear No. 94

Coming off a season in which he shot 26.2% from three-point range and 54.1% from the field in 33 games for Betclic Élite, Armel Traoré averaged 10.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game. But earlier this offseason, the 21-year-old was not chosen in the 2024 NBA Draft.

The fascinating forward ultimately agreed to a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. The first player in Lakers history to wear No. 94 will be Traoré, according to a report published on Sunday by Etienne Catalan.

In the NBA Summer League, Traoré was a player for the Lakers. In eight games (three starts), he shot 48.7% from the field and 22.2% from three-point range, scoring 6.9 points and grabbing 4.8 rebounds per game on average. He will have more time to develop with the South Bay Lakers in the G League because of his two-way contract.

With a 47-35 record, the Lakers concluded the 2023–24 season as the seventh seed in the Western Conference. They defeated Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in five games during the opening round of the NBA playoffs, but they defeated the New Orleans Pelicans in the play-in tournament.
