Miami Heat have Struck an agreement with La Lakers

The California Classic ends tonight, while the NBA Summer League continues. The Los Angeles Lakers play the Miami Heat in the Classic’s last game before traveling to Las Vegas to play in the NBA 2K25 Summer League alongside the other teams.

Return the favor for Bronny? Tonight, when the son of one of the all-time greats takes the court for the second time while wearing a Lakers uniform, all eyes will be on Bronny James. Against the Sacramento Kings over the weekend, Bronny had a lackluster debut, scoring just four points and making just two of his nine field goals.

Reviews for his first taste of NBA action were not entirely positive. Bronny’s debut may have fueled the fires of those detractors who already felt that his one year of college did not justify his selection with the 55th choice in the draft. LeBron, however, reacted differently to Bronny’s first basket while wearing a Lakers jersey, saying, “That’s tough,” after Bronny drove the lane and dangled a layup high off the glass.

Bronny was kept out of the Lakers last game against the Golden State Warriors after some minor swelling on his left knee, but was listed as day-to-day and is expected to play tonight against the Heat. The Lakers got crushed in that game, losing 92-68 to a Golden State team that allowed an average of 67 points in their first two games.

Bronny back on the court The Lakers will try to turn on the offense tonight against the Heat with tip off at 7 p.m. ET from Chase Center as Bronny and company look for their first win in the California Classic. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2 and streamed on ESPN+. Of course Bronny is going to be the only one on display tonight in San Francisco.

Dalton Knecht was the Lakers first round pick. He was the leading scorer in LA’s loss to the Warriors on Sunday, scoring 12 points, but struggling from the field for a second straight game. He went 3/13 after going 3/12 from 12 points in the Lakers first game against the Kings.
