Quincy Olivari recently finished up a fantastic collegiate basketball season with Xavier. After playing in 34 games, he concluded the season with averages of 19.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 40.9% from three-point range and 42.5% from the field. Olivari was not chosen in the 2024 NBA Draft this summer.
Olivari has been formally signed by the Los Angeles Lakers to an Exhibit 10 contract, according to a report published on Tuesday night by Trevor Lane of Lakers Nation.
Olivari spent five years as a collegiate basketball player for Xavier and Rice. In 147 games over his career, he averaged 14.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game while shooting 41.2% from the field and 38.7% from three.
The 23-year-old has proven to be a very reliable three-point shooter.While he likely will not make the roster, Olivari could be an intriguing player for the South Bay Lakers (G League).There is no question that he could be a candidate for a two-way (or 10-day) contract during the season.
With a 47-35 record, the Lakers concluded the previous season as the seventh seed in the Western Conference. They defeated Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in five games during their first-round NBA playoff loss, but they had defeated the New Orleans Pelicans in the play-in tournament.
