Darius Acuff Jr., a five-star recruit ranked as the No. 1 point guard and No. 4 overall player in the Class of 2025 by 247Sports, committed to Arkansas on Friday. Calipari, who left Kentucky for Arkansas in April, has added his first 2025 recruit after signing a five-year contract for $7 million per season.

Acuff, who revealed his decision on YouTube, chose Arkansas over Kansas and Michigan. The 6-3, 180-pound Detroit native is also a composite five-star prospect, according to 247Sports. Acuff had down his choice to Arkansas, Kansas, Michigan, and UConn at the end of June, but dropped the two-time defending national champions before Friday’s announcement.
“The official visit went well. Acuff told 247Sports, “I have a good relationship with John Calipari.” “I visited both Kentucky and Arkansas. Everything was the same except for the schools. It was a wonderful visit. Coach Cal is an excellent guard coach. Most of his guards play in the NBA.”
