Three institutions remain in the recruiting of three-star offensive lineman Byron Nelson, as the UNC football program has made the short list of finalists.

Nelson has picked his finalists and is ready to make a selection between Pittsburgh, Vanderbilt, and North Carolina.

The rising senior is a 6-foot-3, 280-pound offensive lineman, and the UNC football team would like to add another talented quarterback protector to their squad. Nelson is currently listed as the No. 112 interior lineman in the Class of 2025 (according to 247Sports), and his recruiting has heated up in recent weeks.

Things have progressed swiftly between Nelson and the Tar Heels, with Mack Brown and his staff making him an official offer on June 23. Nelson received this offer on his official visit to Chapel Hill.
