There is now one of the most interesting and divisive rivalry in sports between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese. The two faced up for the second time in their individual WNBA careers on Sunday, and things took a further turn for the better—at least on social media.

Angel Reese was definitely out of control, but it didn’t seem like a cheap shot or that she intended to hit Caitlin Clark in the head.
After the game, Reese said exactly that, saying it was a basketball play and that her intent was not to whack Caitlin Clark in the noggin.
And, after the game, Clark seemed to agree, forgiving Angel Reese for the flagrant foul.
Basketball plays are one thing Clark knows, and they are not the other. She is a hooper. Even though Angel Reese acted recklessly, Clark still believes that it was a basketball play. The craziers on Twitter, who are saying that this is just another “attack” on Caitlin Clark, won’t go away despite that.
Caitlin Clark and the Fever won the game, 91-83, behind one of Clark’s best games in the WNBA. She had 23 points, 9 assists, and 8 rebounds on 7-11 shooting. Meanwhile, Reese continued to struggle finish around the basket, but had yet another double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds.
The rivalry between the two teams, as well as between Clark and Reese, is not going to go away anytime soon. After the game, Reese continued to fan the flames by implying that Caitlin Clark receives special treatment.
