Renowned sports analyst Stephen A. Smith expressed his disapproval of the Dallas Mavericks’ performance in Game 5 of the NBA Finals versus the Boston Celtics without holding back.
Fans anticipated Luka Doncic and company to sustain the momentum on Monday as they attempt to save the NBA Finals series after the Mavericks thrashed the Celtics by 38 points in Game 4. However, Dallas was behind by 21 points at the break of Game 5.
Doncic scored just nine points in the first half and was generally unsuccessful from the free throw line, finishing just 1-of-4 at the interval. Irving had a terrible offensive performance as well, scoring only five points in the game’s opening twenty-four minutes. Following a spectacular buzzer-beater by Payton Pritchard that gave the Celtics a 67-46 lead, Smith unleashed a furious tirade on the Mavericks during the halftime show, criticizing the entire team’s play. “So where’s the disgust, goddamn it? since I’m repulsed!
