The Denver Nuggets’ Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is eligible to sign a free-agency contract, but his team is not thrilled about the prospect.
The Nuggets are afraid that Caldwell-Pope may turn down his $15.44 million player option and become a free agent, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. In such case, the shooting guard might be able to sign a contract with a team other than the Nuggets that is shorter but pays more.
According to Scotto, this situation would be similar to Bruce Brown joining the Pacers for two years at a salary of $45 million after leaving the Denver Nuggets following the 2022–2023 season. With the Nuggets this season, Caldwell-Pope averaged 9.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game.
