This is by no means the best scenario for the Dallas Mavericks. So far, a match that was expected to be a close contest between two of the finest teams in the NBA has devolved into a one-sided slugfest in which the Mavericks are helpless against a Boston Celtics squad that is superior to them in nearly every statistic.
In addition to Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, the Mavericks also had to worry about Kristaps Porzingis and the other players in Boston doing well. The loss was mostly caused by the sheer quantity of players to be concerned about.
Dallas supporters, however, are particularly angry with Luka Doncic’s demeanor during Game 3, which they lost 106-99. Supporters closely examined his lack of a defensive spark. Doncic’s fourth-quarter foul infraction effectively sealed the Mavericks’ fate.
Many are beginning to question Luka’s importance to the team now that the Mavs’ season is in jeopardy. One commentator even went so far as to declare outright how Luka will always be remembered in NBA history.
