Mason Greenwood, an attacker for Manchester United, is reportedly a top target for Juventus. The 22-year-old scored 10 goals in 36 games while on loan at Getafe this season, and now that Erik ten Hag’s status has been resolved, United will give consideration to his future.
Juventus “expects” to sign Greenwood in the upcoming weeks, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio. United and the Serie A club are now negotiating a deal. Although the Red Devils are hoping for a fee of €50 million (£42 million), a final sum of €30 million (£25 million) plus bonuses is more plausible.
Di Marzio notes that proceeds from the sale of Federico Chiesa to Roma would also contribute in funding the transfer, and that Greenwood has reportedly “given priority to Juventus” and even negotiated personal conditions with the Old Lady. Several European clubs have expressed interest in the young player this summer. Greenwood, who left United in January 2022, has been linked to Fenerbahce, Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, and Napoli.
The forward’s most likely summer exit has always been assumed, although a loan move or a return to United haven’t been completely ruled out.
