Star player for the Dallas Mavericks Luka Doncic has been battling with what the team originally diagnosed as knee pain; now, according to a fresh injury report, the condition is now being treated as a knee sprain. In an interview with media on Tuesday, Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd stated that Doncic’s knee sprain is likely to be healed for Game 5, meaning the star guard would likely play.

Despite the fact that the Clippers have played an excellent defensive game against him, Doncic has not looked like himself during this series. It is also evident that he is not able to move as well as he usually can. The Mavericks and Clippers are deadlocked 2-2 going into Game 5, but the Clippers won’t have their greatest player, Kawhi Leonard, available for this pivotal match.

Leonard did not look like himself at all in the two games he played in this series—the two that LA lost. The Clippers decided after Game 3 to bench Leonard indefinitely until his knee inflammation decreased to a manageable level. Since that hasn’t happened yet, the star forward has been declared out of Game 5 one day ahead of schedule.

The winner of this game will have the opportunity to finish the series in Game 6, which will be in Dallas.
