Tuesday night’s Dallas Mavericks victory over the LA Clippers tied the series at one before it moved to Dallas. In Game 2, Kawhi Leonard made his 2024 postseason debut for the Clippers, but it was evident that he was not feeling fully himself.Leonard struggled offensively, finishing with just 15 points on 7/17 shooting, but he was active on the glass and on defence. When questioned about Leonard after the game, Mavericks player Luka Doncic gave a glowing review of the Clippers star.
Leonard is a fantastic player, according to Doncic. “Everyone knows he gets even better during the postseason. He is extremely difficult to stop since he is focused in both offensively and defensively. It’s taught me a lot to play against him. He is an amazing athlete.”
With the Clippers defeating the Mavericks in 2020 and 2021, this marks Doncic and Leonard’s third meeting in the first round of the playoffs. Both of those series were difficult, even though the Clippers prevailed, and it appears that this year will be no different.
The Clippers will now need to win in Dallas after losing Game 2 and losing home court advantage. Dallas will host Games 3 and 4, while Los Angeles will host Game 5. This series is entertaining already, and it should become better as it goes on.
