The most recent addition to the Mississippi State women’s basketball team is Chandler Prater. When Prater gets to Starkville, she will be a fifth-year senior and a seasoned collegiate basketball player.The native of Missouri played at Kansas during her first three seasons in the Big 12. For her first two years, the 5-10 guard averaged little over five points per game and only saw three starts
She did, however, become a star for the Jayhawks in her junior year, starting 33 of the 35 games in which she participated. Prater had a typical of nine points, two steals, and six rebounds.
She did, however, choose to use the transfer portal after three seasons at Lawrence and ended up at Oklahoma State, another Big 12 school. Though she was only able to play in five games because of injury, she was primed for another big year at Stillwater.
She is yet another strong addition to the Bulldog team, which is led by Jerkaila Jordan, an All-SEC second-team player. Her greatest influence might be felt on defence, which was MSU’s weakest point during the previous campaign.
Sam Purcell, the head coach of Mississippi State, has had an exciting few weeks as he works hard to recruit the portal and seeks out new assistant coaches. Though Purcell has passed up on some possibilities, including Hailey Van Lith, Prater is a valuable addition and most likely won’t be the last.
