Terance Mann of the Los Angeles Clippers and Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks have a history of physical altercations. It started during Mann’s rookie year’s preseason and has persisted every time the Clippers and Mavericks play.
Mann responded, “I’m not surprised, just because that’s how it started with us from day one,” when asked if it surprises him that Doncic talks so much trash. Mann and the Mavericks are set to play one other in the opening round of this year’s playoffs. That’s all there is to it. It’s healthy competition. It’s enjoyable.”
This is similar to what Mann said back in 2022 when asked about his battles with Doncic, telling reporters then, “It’s between the lines, man. He’s a competitor, he’s a great player. We got the same agent, so it’s nothing. It’s between the lines. We go out there and we’re competitive, we both want to win. It gets chippy at times, but that’s just the love to try to win the game.”
Mann and Doncic, who are both fierce rivals, have a tendency to get intimate, but their relationship stays private. In this series, Mann will probably have to guard Doncic at some points and also find ways to score when the Mavericks try to put their MVP candidate on him.
