The preseason expectations for the Phoenix Suns were high, but they haven’t been met yet. Phoenix is currently ranked seventh in the Western Conference despite their thrilling victory over the defending champion Denver Nuggets on Wednesday.

Even so, Grayson Allen has been an excellent addition to the team.Allen, who is currently in his sixth season, was a part of a historic three-team trade that took him to Phoenix in the summer. All 67 of the 28-year-old’s Suns appearances this season have come from the starting lineup.

Grayson Allen is now free to sign a four-year, $75 million contract extension with Phoenix. That’s a big increase over the two-year, $18.7 million contract he signed with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2022.

After being selected 21st overall in the 2018 NBA Draft, Allen’s potential contract would be worth an average of $18.75 million annually. According to Spotrac, that would be the 80th-highest salary for the 2023–2024 season.

Allen has until June 30, the night before league free agency opens, to consent to a contract extension. If he were free to sign with another team, the sharpshooter would be in high demand in a three-point happy league.

Allen is having his best season as a player for Phoenix.
Allen has started every game for the Suns in 2023–24, as was previously indicated. The six-foot-four guard is averaging 13.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in 33.7 minutes per game. Including the minutes, all those figures represent career highs.

These statistics don’t show how accurate Allen’s shooting is. He has attempted 5.8 threes in per game. Allen has established a connection on 47.8. With 45.4% accuracy, Memphis Grizzlies player Luke Kennard is ranked second in the NBA. This season, he has attempted the 43rd fewest threes, but he has made the 19th most of them.

Furthermore, 56.7% of Allen’s career-high percentage is from inside the arc.
