Two players for the Pittsburgh Steelers are approaching a crucial deadline. May 2 is the deadline for running back Najee Harris and quarterback Justin Fields to find out if the Steelers will activate their fifth-year options.
When head coach Mike Tomlin addressed the media at the NFL Annual Meeting in Orlando regarding the Harris contract situation, he stated that the team is still working out the specifics of whether or not to grant Harris a fifth year.
Harris’s three seasons have seen him as the epitome of consistency. In each of his first three seasons, Harris has over 1,000 rushing yards. Regardless of the performance of the other players, Harris has proven to be a leader on the offensive line by giving his all on every play.
