The former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Cameron Sutton was given a warrant for his arrest on Wednesday by the Hillsborough County (Fla.) Sheriff’s Office.

Sutton is wanted on a third-degree felony charge of aggravated battery/domestic violence by strangulation.

Prior to the warrant, Sutton’s Hillsborough County court records only list two traffic infractions, according to Alan Saunders of Steelers Now.

Sutton, a third-round selection of the 2017 Steelers, inked a $33 million, three-year contract with the Detroit Lions in 2023. With 57 tackles (five for loss), an interception, a forced fumble, and six passes defensed, he started 17 regular-season games and 3 postseason games.

After spending six seasons playing for Pittsburgh, Sutton became a full-time starter in 2021.
