Reading FC is “firmly on life support” after Wycombe Wanderers purchases their training facility.

In response to rumors that the team is considering selling its training facility, supporters of Reading have voiced their concerns. The rumored sale of Reading’s Bearwood Park headquarters was officially announced on Thursday night, following late-night reports that Wycombe Wanderers may be interested.

The Royals acknowledged on Sunday that owner Dai Yongge was thinking about selling Bearwood in order to raise the necessary money to maintain the team until new ownership could be found. Now, the club has officially confirmed that negotiations have started. Chief Executive Dayong Pang stated, “Both parties will proceed with the process exclusively, even though an agreement is not yet finalized.”

“Until a full sale can be completed, the proposed transaction will directly support the club’s short-term funding needs. Additional information, such as potential choices for a different training site, will be shared as it becomes available.”

The possibility of selling the team’s training facility has now been discussed by a well-known supporters organization that is fighting the club’s ownership. With six points taken away by the EFL this season, Reading is only five points above the relegation zone.

Caroline Parker, a representative for the Sell Before We Dai group, stated that selling one of Reading’s important assets “makes the club even less attractive to a new owner and almost certainly scares off potential investors who were already having to contend with Yongge’s unpredictability, all while leaving more chaos for fans, players, and staff to endure.” “This club is now firmly on life support,” she continued.
