
Up until Kevin Garnett shockingly revealed earlier this week that LeBron James, a Los Angeles Laker, has been using performance-enhancing drugs, the NBA player’s legacy and status as one of the best players of all time remained unquestioned. But where did the claims originate?
In a podcast with Paul Pierce, Garnett, an ex-player for the Boston Celtics, made the claims and linked the 39-year-old to the Bay Area Laboratory Co-operative group by implying that he is utilizing “new juice” invented by the company.
The incident occurred when Pierce asked him if LeBron was stronger than his son Bronny. The presenter implied that the boy would be capable of dunking on his father, a comment that Garnett dismissed.
“Have you seen his father? on that BALCO with his dad. According to Garnett, “He’s on that new juice.”
Then, it was connected to previous allegations made by mixed martial arts fighter Chael Sonnen, who claimed that James and he used the same drug supplier to get erythropoietin. Sonnen later clarified that Sonnen saw nothing wrong with what James had done.

Sonnen remarked, “He [James] and I have one thing in common.” “We purchase our EPO from the same drug dealer. Nothing wrong with that, in my opinion.
“Performance and enhancing are good terms, you can pin that on me” .
Erythropoietin: what is it?
The hormone erythropoietin (EPO), a glycoprotein, is essential for the body’s erythropoiesis, or process of making red blood cells. While the liver may also generate a tiny quantity, the kidneys are the primary organs responsible for producing it.
The way that EPO works is by encouraging the production of red blood cells in the bone marrow. These cells are in charge of transferring oxygen from the lungs to all of the body’s tissues.
EPO is well-known for being a performance-enhancing substance in sports. Synthetic EPO is abused by athletes to raise red blood cell counts, which increases their ability to carry oxygen and may improve performance and endurance.
Anti-doping organizations and sports regulatory bodies forbid the use of EPO as a doping agent because of the drug’s possible health hazards and unfair competitive advantage.
In an effort to preserve the fairness of sporting events and safeguard athletes’ health, detection techniques for synthetic EPO have been developed for use in blood samples from athletes.
