The Bucks signs an Awesome Australian emerging star.

As the Milwaukee Bucks enter the final stretch of the 2023–24 season, they are still working out their differences. The Bucks completed a move on Friday morning that might not have a big impact right now, but it could be useful in the future as they look for players to add to their seasoned roster.

The Athletic’s Shams Charania reports that the Bucks are “planning to sign” 6’7 forward Jaylin Galloway, a two-way player from the National Basketball League of Australia, to a two-way contract.

Galloway, a forward who is 21 years old, is not your usual inexperienced young wing trying to make a name for himself in the NBA. He has played professionally in Australia for the last four seasons. With just 121 minutes of floor time in his first two seasons with the NBL’s Kings, he didn’t have much opportunity to see the court. However, for the last two years, he has taken on a larger role, which has obviously impressed the Bucks.

Although Jaylin Galloway has averaged 1.2 steals per game with the Kings this season, Bucks supporters should be more thrilled by his scoring efficiency as he makes the move to the United States. The new Bucks wing has shown a better deep stroke, though he still has a ways to go as he’s only shooting 33.8 percent from deep on 3.1 attempts per night in the NBL. Despite his improved shot selection, he is currently averaging 10.6 points per game on 54.5 percent shooting from the field.

His stature on the wing is astounding, and it has undoubtedly helped him affect the Kings’ game on both sides of the court. He doesn’t create much off the bounce, but he wouldn’t have to do much of that on the Bucks. However, his athleticism, which also enables him to cut his way into the lane, makes him an excellent danger on the open floor. Additionally, his physical attributes make him a valuable defender.

The 21-year-old winger has prior NBA Summer League experience. As the newest player on the Bucks roster, Jaylin Galloway will not be unfamiliar with the NBA as he was a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves’ 2023 Summer League team.
