Blinksportsnews247For three former Tennessee players hoping to go to the next level of their football careers, this is a critical week. With on-field workouts scheduled from Thursday through Sunday, the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine gets underway in Indianapolis.
Three Vols players—quarterback Joe Milton III, running back Jaylen Wright, and cornerback Kamal Hadden—will be representing the program that has won 20 games in the last three seasons, including a 9-4 record in 2023.
As they begin their professional careers, all three players want to increase their chances of being selected, and GoVols247 will be in Indianapolis this week to speak with them and monitor their performance on the field at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Milton’s pre-draft journey began with the Reese’s Senior Bowl, and as he works to build his value, he’ll get a chance to show teams his unique skills. Wright missed the Senior Bowl in order to be healthy for the Combine, where he will be able to show why he is one of the finest running backs in the draft. Wright just finished a 1,000-yard season for the best rushing offense in the SEC. In October, while dominating the football field for the first time in his Tennessee career and rising up the draft boards, Hadden suffered a shoulder injury that ended his season.
Later in the week, the on-field practices will be broadcast on the NFL Network. When Hadden and the defensive backs practice on Thursday and Friday, the exercises will be covered. On Saturday and Sunday, Milton and Wright will work out with the quarterbacks, running backs, and wide receivers. Coverage of the sessions begins at 1 p.m. The morning before their in-game preparations, the three will participate in media interviews.
