HNL: Goalie Linus Ullmark’s fine of $5,000 under review

Goalie Linus Ullmark of the Boston Bruins was fined $5,000 by the NHL on Wednesday for high-sticking Michael Eyssimont, a forward with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The event happened during Tuesday night’s 3-2 shootout victory for Tampa Bay in Boston.

Eyssimont touched Ullmark in the crease, and as the forward fell back, the goaltender struck his face with his stick. On the play, there was no penalty called.

In his third season with the Bruins, Ullmark, 30, is 16-6-3 with a shutout, 2.64 goals against average, and a.915 save percentage. In 2022–2023 he took home the Vezina and Jennings awards.

The maximum amount permitted by the collective bargaining agreement is the fine.
