The Pittsburgh Steelers announced today that they have formally filed a bid to hold the NFL Draft in Pittsburgh in 2026 or 2027.

The NFL Draft has never taken place in Pittsburgh. Up until 2015, the event was hosted annually in New York City. Since then, it has traveled to Chicago (twice), Philadelphia, Dallas, Nashville, Cleveland, Las Vegas, and Kansas City. The draft will take place in Detroit this year and in Green Bay in 2025.

Over 300,000 people attended the Kansas City-hosted draft the previous year. When the draft was held in Nashville in 2019, the record attendance of nearly 600,000 people was set.

According to CBS, when the owners gather in May, the NFL is anticipated to announce the locations that will host the next NFL Draft.
