Blinksportsnews247Joakim Dodson, an in-state talent, committed to Tennessee on Saturday afternoon, strengthening their class of 2025. The Tennessee native is a 6-0, 178-pound receiver from Collierville.
Despite offers from Virginia, Houston, Indiana, Missouri, Ole Miss, TCU, and Purdue, Dodson chooses to commit to Tennessee. According to 247Sports, he is the fifteenth-ranked player in the state of Tennessee. Dodson is the 80th-ranked receiver in the class and the 546th-ranked player in the 2025 cycle.
In January 2023, Tennessee made Dodson an offer to return. He was named after former Florida Gator Joakim Noah and is the son of former Memphis receiver Damien Dodson. It goes without saying that Dodson was a Florida supporter growing up, but he is now a Volunteer.
Dodson caught 52 catches for 919 yards and eight touchdowns in his junior year. He recently returned from a junior day visit to Knoxville, when Tennessee appeared to cement the deal. During the Texas A&M victory last autumn, Dodson returned to school for a visit after spending the previous summer camping with Tennessee.
Dodson is Tennessee’s sixth commitment in the 2025 class. On the offensive end of the ball, he joins three-star running back Justin Baker, four-star tight end Jack Van Dorselaer, and five-star quarterback George MacIntyre in the cycle.
