TRAGIC TRADE: Josh Harrison move to the Cincinnati Reds is reverted due to failed drug Test.

Josh Harrison had a distinguished career at Princeton High School and the University of Cincinnati. In the sixth round of the 2008 MLB Draft, the Pittsburgh Pirates selected him. During his tenure with the Pirates from 2011 to 2018, he terrorized his native Cincinnati Reds on a regular basis and was named to two All Star teams.

Although he has since changed teams, he has an outstanding lifetime record of.286/.334/.455 against the Reds (391 PA). The 36-year-old’s perseverance has finally paid off, as MSM Sports revealed on the artist formerly known as Twitter on Monday. He will now have the option to sign with the Reds as a non-roster signing.

Harrison started out as a 2B by trade, but he has definitely spent a lot of time on the diamond. If you narrow your eyes and consider the possibility of optioning one of the Reds’ young players to AAA to start the season in order to get both playing time and service time, you might be able to picture Harrison starting 2024 in lieu of Nick Senzel. That is, of course, only if he arrives at Goodyear with more vigor than he displayed during his.554 OPS tenure with the Philadelphia Phillies in the previous season.

Even though this signing doesn’t have a guaranteed contract like the ones with Luke Maile and Brent Suter did, it’s still a feel-good move by the Reds.
