After almost eight years with the Toronto Raptors, Pascal Siakam has moved to the Indiana Pacers.Siakam was a member of the squad that won the 2019 NBA championship, a two-time All-Star, and an All-NBA pick during his tenure in Canada.

joining forces with All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton on the Pacers, who brought in even more offensive firepower for the second half of the season after beginning the day as the NBA’s highest-scoring team.

The Raptors also acquired guard Kira Lewis, who was acquired by Indiana earlier on Wednesday (local time) from New Orleans in a transaction that facilitated the Siakam move.

Before Toronto’s team defeated the Miami Heat on Wednesday night, coach Darko Rajakovic described Pascal as a “pure basketball junkie.”

“He is the last person to leave the gym and the first to arrive. From the beginning, he was consistently professional and coachable.

“I can only be thankful and grateful for all of his contributions to our team this season.”For Indiana, the NBA team with the highest scoring average this year, the transaction is a major one.The Pacers, who started the season ranked sixth in the Eastern Conference, will soon be able to team Siakam with Haliburton.

The 29-year-old Siakam is in the last year of his current contract, which pays him approximately $US38 million this season. This summer, he will be eligible to negotiate a five-year contract worth up to $US247 million.Over his career, he has averaged 17.4 points and 6.5 rebounds. This season, he was scoring 22.2 points per game.
