Erik Spoelstra, the coach of the Miami Heat, was among those in the NBA who paid their respects following the untimely death of Dejan Milojevic, the assistant for Golden State. Milojevic passed away on Wednesday afternoon from a heart attack. 46 was his age.
Reporters in Toronto claim that Spoelstra began by expressing his condolences to the Milojevic family during his pregame press conference for the Raptors’ game on Wednesday. He followed in the footsteps of league commissioner Adam Silver, who also issued a statement.
Milojevic suffered the heart attack the night before the Warriors were set to play at the Utah Jazz. The game was postponed as a result.
Milojevic joined the Warriors in staff 2021 after a successful playing and coaching career in Europe . He was a native of Serbia, the same country as Heat forward Nikola Jovic and Denver Nuggets All-Star Nikola Jokic. “We are absolutely devastated by Dejan Milojević’s sudden passing,” the Warriors said on a social media post.
“This is a shocking and tragic blow for everyone associated with the Warriors and an incredibly difficult time for his family, friends, and all of us who had the incredible pleasure to work with him. We grieve with and for his wife, Natasa, and their children, Nikola and Masa.
