Wrexham, who are considering a move for the Owls’ seasoned forward Lee Gregory, may benefit from the loan transfer of former Chelsea youth star Ike Ugbo from French club Troyes to Championship side Sheffield Wednesday, according to Football League World.
Despite the eagerness of their Hollywood owners, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, to spend money, the Red Dragons have not added a new player during the current January transfer window. Gregory has been linked to the club since December, but the Championship team was unwilling to let him go.
But Gregory could now finally transfer out and join the Welsh team after Ugbo joined the team.
The 35-year-old forward has only played in 13 Championship games this season, meaning that his playing time has been cut at Sheffield Wednesday. Since October 25, he has played for just one minute on the field and has only scored once in the league.
On January 20, Phil Parkinson’s team, who are currently leading the league by two points and riding a three-match winning streak, will play their next League Two fixture against Newport County.
