Texas’s Austin Jake Majors, a center for the Texas Longhorns, declared on social media on Saturday that he will be playing his senior year next season. The Majors thanked offensive line coach Kyle Flood and head coach Steve Sarkisian in a statement.
Majors wrote, “I would like to thank Coach Flood and Coach Sark for allowing me to return for the 2024 season.” “I do not take the honor of representing UT lightly. I would want to express my gratitude to our devoted fan base, coaches, teammates, friends, and family for their support throughout this journey. In 2024, I’m excited to further my studies, develop as a leader both on and off the field, and play a significant role in the Texas Longhorn community. Majors, a 2020 recruit out of Texas, went from being a three-star prospect to the SEC’s starting center for the upcoming season. Since the 2021 season began, he has led Texas in all 39 of its games started.
Over the past few seasons, Majors had anchored an offensive line that helped open the path for a number of outstanding NFL running backs, including Roschon Johnson, Bijan Robinson, and soon-to-be-drafted Jonathan Brooks.
Now, he’ll want to spearhead a potent rushing attack the next campaign.
