Blinksportsnews247In order to address one of their largest roster gaps, the Boston Red Sox sold pitcher Chris Sale to the Atlanta Braves on Saturday and acquired infielder Vaughn Grissom in exchange.
Chief Baseball Officer Craig Breslow called it a “tough” choice, but it doesn’t mean he wouldn’t do it again.
He’s actively trying to make movements along those lines, in fact.
According to the “Baseball Isn’t Boring” podcast, Breslow stated on Saturday, “I will not stop looking at opportunities to upgrade.” “.. Although we are at ease with the group, we also understand that there ought to be chances for improvement, and we won’t give up until we have explored every avenue.
Currently in the middle of its free-agency season, Major League Baseball offers the Red Sox plenty of chances to add talent. But they’re not restricting themselves by only examining players who are available to the public.
With Grissom added, Boston has a plethora of depth up the middle, giving guys in the minor levels and on the big league roster equal opportunity to make an impact as early as this season.
Perhaps it’s not at Fenway Park after all.

The Red Sox have shown a lot of boldness in the days after Christmas, and it appears that Breslow enjoys conducting business in this manner. Boston will add more; all we can do is wait and see how they manifest themselves.
