They have subsequently dropped into the relegation zone and have just four points from 12 games. Everton plan to appeal the decision.
WHY EVERTON MIGHT HAVE TO PAY DAMAGES
After filing a collective action against Everton, a group of teams must decide whether to pursue compensation from the Toffees, according to Ben Jacobs of CBS Sports. Leicester, Burnley, Southampton, Leeds, and Nottingham Forest are the ones listed.
Burnley placed last in 2021/22, while Leicester placed last in 2022–2023 for relegation. Everton made it out alive, and according to a May verdict, the two have a “potential claim”. The Premier League will have to pursue that action, even though they may want as much as £300 million.
